June is Men’s Health Month! This month raises awareness of the importance of preventative health measures and routine exams to detect and treat health issues among men and boys. Men's Health Month gives providers and patients an opportunity to encourage males to seek regular medical care for the healthiest outcomes possible.
Age-appropriate screenings and vaccinations can lead to healthier, longer lives. The CDC and Men's Health Network suggest certain screenings for males ages 18-39, 40-64 and 65+. Screenings can include BMI, Cholesterol, Despression, Colorectal, Fall Risk, Blood Pressure, EKGs, Prostate and more.
Medical providers and practices have an awesome opportunity to help patients be more proactive in managing their health. Ask yourself how you can improve patient education, communication and outreach to share important health screenings with your patients.
