What comes to mind when you hear the word print. Paper stock? Weight? Texture? Grain? C1S, C2S? Highly unlikely, unless you are a printer.
Think about the print in your practice as a lifeline between you and your patient. Print tells a story. It’s visual and tangible. Use print as a communications vehicle. Improve patient/provider relationships. Share health education. Promote screenings. Discuss treatments. Print isn’t just a ‘brochure’ or a ‘booklet’ or a ‘postcard’. Print messages can change behavior, create a sense of urgency, pull on the heartstrings, and yes, print can save a life.
Think about it. It’s not just a postcard reminder for a colonoscopy. It has saved someone from colon cancer. It’s not just a mammogram brochure. It helped detect the early stages of a patient's cancer. It’s not just an appointment reminder for a blood draw. It detected high cholesterol. There are hundreds of stories like this. Printed materials can put patients on the path to healthier living. What stories are you sharing?
